Choir # 2

Choir No. 2 was reorganized in 1956, under the leadership of the Reverend F. L. Riley. This choir started as a youth choir under the supervision of the late Mrs. Mariah Bolton, who served until her homegoing on August 3, 1987.

Sometimes few in number and not always agreeable, we've kept the faith and remained together. The way has not always been easy and the road not always smooth, but we thank God for the ways and the roads we've traveled. Through the years we've gained good members, and it is our desire to continue and draw others in the Lord's service through song.

Forty-two years of singing praises unto the Lord and we know that only by the grace of God have we been able to endure the trials and tribulations of any successful organization. We sum it up as "a prayer answered and a promise kept."

Giving all the honor to God, for truly, "we've come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord."

The Women's Missionary Society

The Women's Missionary Society is composed of elected officers that are re-elected each year. The current officers are Eluise Young -president; Ruth Ross -vice president; Connie Pope - secretary; Louise Askew - treasurer.
The purpose of the Women's Missionary Society is to help people grow in the knowledge and experience of God through Christian training as well as collective mission work; to seek fellowship with people in all lands; to be an advocate for the educational arms of the society; and to advocate human rights.
The structure of the organization shall be the Senior and the Young People's Divisions. Ages range from 2 through 26 for the Young People's Division.
Presently there are 25 active members of the Women's Missionary Society. We encourage all ladies of the church to become missionaries. The Women's Missionary Society visits the Open Door Community once a month at Ponce de Leon Ave. to feed the homeless. This is done on the first Saturday of every month.
Our project for this year is to get chairs for the church and bring in a style of unity among our members. Continue to pray for us as we press forward.
